Springtime
POETRY
by Justin Demmitt
it’s blue across the way, raining here.
a rainbow is taking down my name.
there was a river breeze,
something about being sidelined,
but i couldn’t really remember.
they all say you’re trespassing
all your see through tresses
your veins next to the astral.
i can feel the adoration
slipping away from me
as the years go on
I hold it and I drop it
i’ve been unthreaded
inside out
there are many pieces of my heart
that float around this city
like pollen in the air left behind by the bees
after their afternoon naps in tulips
don’t you think I was meant to love you?
